Why recycle your computer?

Computers contain many resources and hazardous components such as lead, copper and cadmium. Recycling the computer conserves these natural resources and ensures they are kept out of the landfill.

Why is there a $5 recycling fee?

Recycling electronics is expensive. Your $5 will help cover some of the costs and ensure this material is handled in an environmentally responsible manner.

What happens to your computer now?

We work with the Saint John chapter of Canadian Diabetes, who collects the computers and ships them directly to Greentec in Ontario.  The computers are refurbished or recycled. Personal information undergoes a data destruction process.
