Open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon to accept HHW or visit a Community Round Up in October

Household Hazardous Waste is any harmful substance that is considered corrosive, toxic, flammable, or reactive. Please do not dispose of any hazardous items in your regular garbage or down the drain. Bring them to our facility, and we will ensure they are handled correctly.
No Charge for HHW! Bring your household hazardous waste to Crane Mountain Landfill on Saturday mornings from 8 am to 12 noon. With the assistance of a professional hazardous waste management company, we’ll keep it out of the landfill. Directions to Crane Mountain Landfill
Computer Recycling Year Round:
You can recycle your old computer system* on Saturdays from 8am to 12 noon. Old computers are accepted at our Household Hazardous Waste facility at Crane Mountain Landfill.
*Resident Recycling Fee:
$5.00 / computer system (computer system includes: monitor, hard drive, printer, speakers, mouse, keyboard and scanner)
*Business Recycling Fee :
$6.50 / computer. Please call Crane Mountain Landfill to book an appointment at 738-1212.
Community HHW & Computer Recycling Round Up Events: Coming again in October 2012 to Saint John, Hampton, Quispamsis/Rothesay and St. Martins. Details and specific community locations to follow.
Canadian Diabetes Association at 229 Bayside Drive will also recycle your old computers at no charge. Call 693-4232 for details.

The Future Shop in Saint John has a Greentec drop box which will accept the following items for recycling: Used Batteries, Cell Phones, CD Players, MP3 Players, CDs, Portable DVD Players and Ink Cartridges. Drop off your used compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) at Home Depot for Recycling. 55 Depot Court, 632-9440
Compact fluorescent light bulbs and fluorescent tubes are accepted at our Household Hazardous Waste Facility open every Saturday 8am - 12 noon.
Rechargeable Batteries are recyclable. When you buy new rechargeable batteries, most stores will take your old batteries for recycling. Visit the more recycling link for a list of some of the companies who participate in battery recycling in the Fundy Region.

Motor Oil or Transmission Fluid
If you change the oil in your own automotive or recreational vehicle, you can return your used oil to facilities throughout the region. Under the Used Oil Program, businesses that sell oil are required to either accept used oil, or must arrange with another nearby facility to take back used oil. There is no charge for this program.
